This Ain’t Our First Rodeo.
A certified Texas electric company since 2001, First Choice Power has been around since the start of deregulation in January of 2002. But our Texas roots run much deeper. We have ties to a 70-year heritage of serving Texans, and many customers know us as the affiliated retail Texas electric provider of TNMP (Texas New Mexico Power). Before deregulation, TNMP was one of five utilities that traditionally serviced areas across the great state of Texas. Today, these five companies, officially called “Transmission & Distribution Service Providers”, maintain the poles, wires and other equipment that we and other companies use to provide electricity to customers.

As part of PNM Resources, Inc., we’re still Texans serving Texans. We’re small enough to provide personalized customer care, but large enough that our customers know we’ll be here for the long haul. We’ve grown our business by taking care of our customers the way we would take care of our family, led by a first-rate leadership team—good people who know a lot about the energy industry and also know the value of doing what’s right.
